Payments lists every customer payment your team has recorded, wherever it was taken: on an invoice, at Appointment Checkout, or at the Point of Sale. Use it to answer questions like “what did we collect today?” or “how much came in by card this month?” without opening each invoice.

Open Commerce → Payments. You need the invoices.view permission.

Payments are not created on this page. Each one belongs to an invoice:

  • Invoices: Record payment on the invoice’s Payment tab. See Invoices.
  • Appointment Checkout: each payment line at checkout.
  • Point of Sale: each tender taken at the register, and refunds given on returns.
  • Connected apps: payments synced from apps such as ERPNext or Repzo SFA.

Payment entries made inside the Accounting workspace are ledger documents and are listed in Accounting → Payments, not here.

To correct a payment, open its invoice and delete the payment from the Payment tab, then record it again.

Use the All payments and Today tabs, the Method, Payment date, and Currency quick filters, and search. Save your own filters and columns as a table view. Export downloads the filtered list, dated by payment date.

Click a row to open the payment in a side panel. It shows:

  • Payment details: amount, payment method, payment date, recorded by, reference, tip, provider, and provider transaction ID;
  • Invoice: the invoice number, status, total, and amount due;
  • notes and tags.

Click View invoice to open the related invoice. When Accounting is enabled, the ledger menu shows the journal entry the payment posted.

The Reports tab next to Records summarizes payments. Start from Payment overview, By payment method, By recorded by, or By invoice, then change the date range, filters, grouping, and chart. Measures include total received, payment count, and average payment. Save a report to your library or export it. Reports also need the reports.view permission.

Admins choose the methods people can pick when recording payments in Settings → Finance → Payment Methods:

  • Turn standard methods (Cash, Card, Bank transfer, Check, Online, Other) on or off.
  • Click Add payment method to add your own, for example a specific bank or wallet app. Give it a Name, a Category, and an optional logo, and choose whether it is Available at checkout.
  • Drag methods into the order your team should see them.

Gift card and Store credit are added automatically when your workspace has Client Loyalty, which includes Gift Cards. The same list is used at the Point of Sale and opens from Settings → Point of Sale → Payment Methods too.

When Accounting is enabled, each method’s bank or cash account is set in Posting defaults.
