# Time Cards

> Let staff clock in and out on the register, review the hours they worked, and correct missed punches.

The time clock lets employees clock in and out on a POS register with their PIN. Time cards list those punches and add up the hours, so you can check attendance or prepare payroll.

## Turn on the time clock

The time clock is off by default. For each branch that should use it:

1. Open **Settings → Point of Sale → Branches & Registers** and select the branch.
2. On the **Point of sale** tab, under **Staff and stock alerts**, switch on **Time clock**.
3. Save.

Employees need POS access at that branch, a POS PIN, and the `pos.time_clock` permission. See [Give cashiers access](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/pos/settings#give-cashiers-access).

## Clock in and out

After unlocking the register with their PIN, the employee sees the **Time clock** prompt and can **Clock in** before they **Start selling**. Later, they can use **Clock in** or **Clock out** from the register's **More actions** menu. The header shows when they clocked in.

- Clocking in does not open a cash drawer shift. Shifts and time cards are separate.
- An employee can only have one open punch at a time.

## Review time cards

Open **Point of Sale → Time cards**. You need the `pos.manage_time_entries` permission.

Set **From**, **To**, and the **Store** (or **All stores**). The page shows **Total hours** for the range, and a row for each punch with the **Employee**, **Store**, **Clock in**, **Clock out**, and **Hours**. A punch without a clock-out shows **Still clocked in**.

## Correct a time card

When someone forgets to clock out, or clocks in late:

1. Click the row to open **Correct a time card**.
2. Change the **Clock in** or **Clock out** time. Clear **Clock out** to reopen the punch.
3. Add a **Note** explaining the correction.
4. Click **Save correction**.

Each correction records who made it and is saved in the audit log.
