# Campaigns

> Plan marketing initiatives and track contacts, deals, creatives, budgets, and ad activity.

A campaign keeps everything about one marketing initiative in a single record. Use it to connect planning and spend with the [Contacts](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/sales/contacts) and won [Deals](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/sales/deals) the initiative brings in.

Campaigns, [Send](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/marketing/send), [Segments](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/marketing/segments), [Ads](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/marketing/ads), and [Forms](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/marketing/forms) are part of the Marketing add-on. See [Plans & Add-ons](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/commerce/plans-and-add-ons).

## Campaign lifecycle

Campaigns use four statuses:

- **Draft** for planning.
- **Active** while the campaign is running.
- **Paused** when work is temporarily stopped.
- **Completed** when the initiative is finished.

The campaign type can be Email, Social Media, Paid Ads, Event, Content, Referral, or Other. The type only classifies the campaign; it doesn't send anything. Use [Send](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/marketing/send) to message contacts and [Ads](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/marketing/ads) for synced ad performance.

## Create a campaign

1. Open **Marketing → Campaigns**.
2. Click **New Campaign**. If your workspace has campaign templates, you can start from one instead of from scratch.
3. Add the name, type, owner, dates, and status.
4. Add a source, channel, audience, budget, goal, or expected revenue if useful.
5. Add UTM source, medium, campaign, content, and term values if links need tracking.
6. Save the campaign.

To reuse a campaign's setup, open it and click **Clone**.

## How contacts are linked

Contacts are linked to a campaign when:

- a [Form](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/marketing/forms) submission carries a `utm_campaign` value that matches the campaign's UTM campaign;
- a synced ad lead form brings in a contact, and the form mapping or the ad is linked to the campaign (see [Ads](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/marketing/ads));
- someone sets the campaign on the contact by hand.

If a contact is linked again later, the newest campaign wins. The **Won Deals** tab shows won deals from those contacts, plus deals linked to the campaign directly.

## Work from the campaign record

The record splits campaign work into tabs:

| Tab | Use it for |
| --- | --- |
| **Overview** | Contacts, qualified contacts, won deals, budget, spend, and cost per contact, qualified contact, and converted contact. |
| **Contacts** | Contacts linked to the campaign. Select them to edit, assign, or delete them, move them to another campaign, or remove them from this one. |
| **Won Deals** | Revenue from those contacts. |
| **Creatives** | Store campaign assets and move them through review. |
| **Budget** | Compare planned budget items with actual spend. |
| **Activity** | The campaign's timeline. |
| **Comments** | Coordinate with teammates. |
| **Synced ads** | Ads from connected ad accounts that belong to this campaign. |
| **Settings** | Link ad accounts and external campaign IDs. |

Creative statuses are Draft, Pending Review, Approved, Rejected, and Revision Requested. Review notes stay with the asset, so you can see why it was approved or sent back.

Qualified and converted use the same definitions as [Ads](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/marketing/ads#qualified-and-converted-contacts).

## Lists, views, and visibility

Use the All campaigns, Draft, Active, Paused, and Completed tabs to narrow the list, and save table views for filters and columns you use often. Select campaigns to bulk-edit, assign, create tasks, or delete, where your permissions allow.

Campaign access follows your workspace's visibility rules. Depending on setup, you may see all campaigns, your department's campaigns, or only your own.
