# Content Hub

> Create public or private knowledge sites, sections, articles, and AI-ready sources.

Content Hub is where Workstation knowledge is written, organized, and published. It can power a public help center, private handbook, product documentation, API reference, and knowledge used by AI agents.

## Sites, sections, and articles

- A **site** is the published destination. It has a name, slug, public or private visibility, and Live or Paused state.
- A **section** groups related articles and becomes a tab on its site. Sections can also exist as standalone knowledge sources.
- An **article** is the individual page readers open and search.

The Content Hub home separates **Your sites** from **Knowledge sources**. Sources are grouped as **Articles**, **Websites** (synced website content), **Documents** (uploaded files converted into searchable knowledge), and **Other sources**. Each source shows whether it is used by AI agents (**AI source** or **Not assigned**) and whether it appears on the published Help Center (**Help Center** or **Internal**). Use **New source** to add one.

## Start a knowledge site

1. Open **Knowledge → Content Hub**.
2. Choose **New** and start from a template, blank site, or blank section.
3. Set the site's name, description, slug, and visibility.
4. Add or link sections, then drag them into the intended order.
5. Add articles inside each section.
6. Preview the site, publish its articles, and switch the site to **Live** when ready.

Templates scaffold a site, its sections, and starter articles. Everything created by the template can be edited afterward.

## Choose a section layout

| Layout | Best for | Additional behavior |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Documentation** | Product and process guides | Structured documentation reader. |
| **API Reference** | Endpoint documentation | Import an OpenAPI 3.x JSON or YAML file to create draft endpoint articles. |
| **Knowledge Base** | Customer help content | Optional “Was this helpful?” feedback. |
| **Handbook** | Internal policies and procedures | Optional reader acknowledgment. |

Layout controls how a section is rendered on the published site. It does not prevent a section from being moved or linked to a different site.

## Write and publish articles

The article editor supports normal rich text and structured blocks such as callouts, cards, columns, accordions, tabs, steps, code groups, prompts, and updates. Articles can be written in the visual editor or edited as Markdown/MDX source.

Keep an article in Draft while it is being reviewed. Publish or unpublish articles individually, or publish all drafts from a section. The article record includes its content, discussion, owner, published date, reading time, and available analytics or feedback.

## Visibility and sharing

A public site can be opened through its reader URL when it is Live. Use **Copy URL** on the site page to share it. Private sites remain available to authorized workspace users. Preview links let signed-in teammates review a paused site before it goes live.

Turn on **Default site** in **Configure** to show that site when visitors open the Content Hub root address. Site settings also hold the name, description, slug, and visibility.

Use private visibility for internal policies or operational knowledge. Review the site and every linked section before changing a destination to public.

## Permissions

`content_hub.view` opens Content Hub. Creating, editing, publishing, and deleting are controlled by `content_hub.create`, `content_hub.update`, `content_hub.publish`, and `content_hub.delete`. The `_own` variants (`content_hub.update_own`, `content_hub.delete_own`) limit editing and deleting to content the user owns.
