# User element

Displays a mention of a user.

## Fields

| Field | Type | Description | Required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| `type` | String | The type of object; in this case, `user`. | Required |
| `user_id` | String | The id of the user to mention. | Required |
| `style` | Object | An object of optional boolean properties that dictate style: `bold`, `italic`, `strike`, `highlight`, `client_highlight`, `underline` and `unlink`. | Optional |
| `from_llm` | Boolean | Whether the mention was generated by an LLM. | Optional |

> **How Repzo Chat differs from Slack**
>
> - `user_id` is a Repzo user id. The name is looked up when the message is posted and shown as an `@name` chip; someone outside the organisation, or an unknown id, shows as `@user`.
> - `style` and `from_llm` are ignored.
