# Emoji element

Displays an emoji.

## Fields

| Field | Type | Description | Required? |

| `type` | String | The type of object; in this case, `emoji`. | Required |
| `name` | String | The name of the emoji, e.g. `white_check_mark` or `wave::skin-tone-2`. | Required |
| `unicode` | String | The emoji's Unicode code points in hex, joined with `-` (e.g. `1f389`), where applicable. | Optional |

> **How Repzo Chat differs from Slack**
>
> - When `unicode` is valid hex code points it is used as is; otherwise the emoji is looked up by `name`, and a name Repzo doesn't know shows as `:name:`.
> - Custom workspace emoji aren't supported.
