# Trigger object

Defines the trigger a workflow button points at, and the input parameters to start it with.

## Usage

A trigger object is used inside a [workflow object](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/developers/block-kit/objects/workflow-object), which is set on a workflow button.

## Fields

| Field | Type | Description | Required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| `url` | String | A link trigger URL. On Slack it must belong to a valid trigger. | Required |
| `customizable_input_parameters` | Object[] | An array of input parameter objects, each `{ "name": String, "value": String }`. On Slack each `name` must match a customizable input parameter of the trigger's workflow. Values may be visible to readers — don't put secrets in them. | Optional |

> **How Repzo Chat differs from Slack**
>
> - Repzo doesn't run Slack workflows. Clicking a workflow button sends a `block_actions` payload to the app that posted the message, with the whole `workflow` object — `trigger.url` and `customizable_input_parameters` included — so your app can start the work itself.
> - `url` is not opened or checked against a real trigger, but it must be present: a workflow button without `workflow.trigger.url` returns a warning.
