# URL source element

Displays a URL source — a link the task's result is based on.

| | |
|---|---|
| **Type** | `url` |
| **Available in** | Messages, Modals, Home tab |
| **Works in blocks** | [Task card block](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/developers/block-kit/blocks/task-card-block), [Plan block](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/developers/block-kit/blocks/plan-block) |

## Usage

The URL source element shows a clickable reference in a task card's `sources` (including the tasks of a plan block). It can't be used in other blocks, and whether the URL resolves is not checked.

## Fields

| Field | Type | Description | Required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| `type` | String | The type of element. In this case `type` is always `url`. | Required |
| `url` | String | The URL of the source. Only `http` and `https` links are shown. | Required |
| `text` | String | Display text for the URL. | Required |

> **How Repzo Chat differs from Slack**
>
> - Like task cards, sources also show in modals and the Home tab.
> - Without `text`, the URL itself is shown.
