# Pulse

> Share wins, give kudos, run polls and challenges, and reward colleagues in the team feed.

Pulse is your team's internal social feed. People share wins and updates, give each other kudos coins, run polls, and join team challenges. Pulse also posts on its own when something worth celebrating happens, such as a big deal being won or a teammate's birthday.

Open **Analytics → Pulse**. When your plan includes Pulse, it is also the first page members see after signing in. Workspaces without Pulse land on the [Dashboard](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/analytics/dashboard) instead.

The page has two tabs: **Feed** and **Rewards**. The active tab is kept in the URL (`/pulse?tab=rewards`), so you can link straight to it.

## The feed

The feed shows the newest posts first and updates live, so new posts, reactions, and comments appear without refreshing. Pinned posts stay at the top in their own section.

Each post can be:

| Post | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| **Post** | A teammate shares an update, a win, or photos |
| **Poll** | A teammate asks the team a question |
| **Kudos** | A teammate gives kudos coins to a colleague |
| **Challenge** | An owner or admin starts a team goal with a live progress bar |
| **Big Win** | Pulse posts automatically when a deal is won |
| **Celebration** | Pulse posts automatically for birthdays and work anniversaries |
| **Achievement** | Pulse posts the weekly heroes digest, monthly awards, and completed challenges |

React to a post with 👏 🔥 ❤️ 🏆 😂 or 🎉. Hover over a reaction to see who reacted. Comment on a post and type `@` to mention a colleague; they get a notification.

Click any name or avatar to open that person's profile. It shows the kudos they have received, their current daily streak, and their [badges](#badges).

### Write a post

Type in the composer at the top of the feed and click **Post**. From the composer you can also:

- **Photo**: attach up to six images.
- **Poll**: open the poll dialog.
- **Give kudos**: send coins to a colleague.
- **Challenge**: start a team challenge (owners and admins only).

Authors can delete their own posts and comments. Owners and admins can delete any post or comment, and can pin or unpin posts.

### Polls

A poll needs a question and at least two options. Optional settings:

| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Show who voted** | Shows voter names instead of keeping votes anonymous |
| **Allow multiple answers** | Lets each person pick more than one option |
| **Allow adding options** | Lets voters add their own options |
| **Allow revoting** | Lets people change or retract their vote |
| **Set correct answer** | Turns the poll into a quiz |
| **Limit duration** | Closes the poll after a set number of hours or days |
| **Hide results until closed** | Keeps results hidden until the poll closes (needs a duration) |

Polls work the same way as polls in [Chat](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/operations/chat).

### Challenges

A challenge is a time-boxed team goal. Give it an emoji, a name, a target, an end date, and pick what counts:

- Deals won
- Tickets resolved
- Kudos given
- Pulse posts

The challenge card shows live progress based on real records. When the team reaches the target, Pulse posts a celebration once. Everyone takes part, but only owners and admins can start a challenge.

## Kudos coins

Every member gets a monthly allowance of kudos coins to give away (100 by default). The allowance resets each month and cannot be kept, only given.

To give kudos, click **Give kudos**, pick a colleague, choose how many coins, and write why they earned it. The kudos appears in the feed and the colleague gets a notification.

The right-hand rail shows:

- **Kudos coins**: how many you have left to give this month, plus what you received this month and all time.
- **Most loved this month**: the colleagues who received the most kudos.
- **This month**: participation rate, posts, coins moved, and reactions. Only owners and admins see this card.

Coins you **receive** are a separate balance. You can spend them on perks in the Rewards tab.

## Rewards

The **Rewards** tab shows your coin balance and the perks your workspace offers, such as a coffee voucher or a half day off. Click **Redeem** on a perk to request it. The coins are held while the request waits for approval.

Owners and admins see a **Waiting for approval** list. **Approve** spends the coins; **Decline** returns them. The person who redeemed gets a notification either way. Everyone can follow their own requests under **My redemptions**.

If your workspace sets a coin expiry, received coins expire that many months after they were earned. The oldest coins are always spent first.

## Automatic posts

Pulse posts these on its own:

| Post | When |
|---|---|
| **Big Win** | A deal moves into a won stage for the first time. You can set a minimum deal value and hide amounts. |
| **Birthday and work anniversary** | On the day, for members who have saved their dates |
| **This week's heroes** | Once a week, at the start of the business day on the chosen weekday |
| **Monthly awards** | Early each month: Most Loved, Most Generous, Rainmaker, and Support Hero for the previous month |
| **Challenge complete** | The first time a challenge reaches its target |

### Birthdays and work anniversaries

Members add their own dates from the **Celebrations** card in the rail, or later from **Settings → Profile**. Only the month and day of a birthday are stored, never the year. The card disappears from the rail once both dates are saved.

## Badges

Badges are earned from real activity and show on each person's profile:

| 📣 Hype Machine | Give 100 reactions |
| 🗳️ Poll Master | Run 5 polls |
| ✍️ Storyteller | Share 10 posts |
| 🔥 On Fire | Reach a 7-day activity streak |
| ⚡ Streak Legend | Reach a 30-day streak |

## Settings

The workspace owner configures Pulse in **Settings → Pulse**. These settings apply to everyone:

| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| **Monthly kudos allowance per person** | 100 | Coins each member can give away per month |
| **Only celebrate deals worth at least** | No minimum | Stops small wins from flooding the feed (in your base currency) |
| **Coins expire after (months)** | 12 | When received coins expire; choose **Never** to keep them |
| **Max coins to the same colleague** | No cap | Limits how much one person can give the same colleague per month |
| **Show deal values on win posts** | On | Turn off if deal amounts are sensitive, since everyone can see Pulse |
| **Post a weekly "this week's heroes" digest** | On, Friday | Turns the weekly digest on or off and sets the day |

The **Rewards catalog** on the same page lists the perks people can redeem. Add a perk with **New perk** (emoji, name, description, cost in coins, active or not), or start from **Templates**. Turning a perk off hides it from the Rewards tab; deleting it keeps past redemptions.

## Notifications

Pulse can notify you about new posts (grouped into one alert), mentions, comments on your posts, reactions to your posts, kudos you receive, and team celebrations. Choose which ones you get in [Notifications](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/administration/notifications).

## Ask Fox

Fox can use Pulse data to answer questions such as "who deserves recognition this week?". It looks at kudos received and given, deals won, and tickets resolved, so it can spot different kinds of contribution.

## Permissions

| Permission | Allows |
|---|---|
| `pulse.view` | Open Pulse and read the feed. Every role has it. |
| `pulse.post` | Post, comment, react, vote, give kudos, and redeem perks |
| `pulse.manage` | Start challenges, pin posts, approve or decline redemptions, and see the monthly analytics card |
