# Objects

> Customize organization-wide record pages, create forms, association labels, and related properties.

Objects controls how each kind of record looks and behaves across the workspace: which cards and tabs a record page shows, which fields the create form asks for, how records relate to each other, and which linked-record properties people can add to tables. It uses the same catalog as [Properties](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/administration/properties), but focuses on presentation.

Open **Settings → Sales & CRM → Objects** and pick an object.

## Supported objects

Contacts, Accounts, Suppliers, Deals, Tickets, Orders, Listings, Subscriptions, Price Offers, Products, Invoices, Forms, Activities, and Campaigns.

Not every module with properties is in Objects. Projects, for example, have properties and pipelines but no customizable record page yet.

## Object tabs

| Tab | Use it to |
|---|---|
| **Record customization** | Arrange the record page (cards, tabs, sections) |
| **Create form** | Choose the fields on the "create" form and which are required |
| **Associations** | Manage association labels and limits for this object |
| **Related properties** | Let people add properties of linked records as table columns |
| **Automation** | Accounts only: automatically create and link accounts for contacts |

Only the tabs that apply to the selected object are shown.

## Record customization

Each object has one **Default view** for all workspace users. If nothing has been saved, Workstation uses the system layout. Saving changes every record page for that object. Use the view's menu to reset it to the system layout.

Open the Default view to edit it in a live preview built from a real record.

### The three columns

- **Left sidebar**: record identity and key information, such as status, properties, and tags.
- **Middle column**: tabs that organize the main workspace, such as About, Activities, Emails, Comments, and Timeline. You can rename, reorder, and hide tabs, create your own tabs, and split a tab into sections (up to 10 per tab). At least one tab must stay visible.
- **Right sidebar**: associations, files, and other supporting cards.

Drag cards to reorder them. Hide a card with **Hide card**, and bring it back from **Add card**.

### Add and create cards

**Add card** opens the card library. Pick an existing card for the column, or open **Create card** to make a new one:

| Card type | What it shows |
|---|---|
| **Property card** | A list of properties, in one or two columns |
| **Insight card** | A **Data highlight** of a few key values, or a **Property history** chart of how a number has changed over time |
| **Association card** | Linked records as a table, grouped by association label, or as a stage tracker |
| **Module card** | A built-in card with its own behaviour, such as an activity timeline |

An object can have up to 20 cards you created in the left sidebar and up to 30 elsewhere. A property card can show up to 50 properties.

### Edit a property card

Click the pencil on a property card to change its title, add properties from the live catalog, drag them into order, remove them (no data is deleted), choose **One column** or **Two columns**, and preview real values. Adding a property to a card does not change its group in Properties.

### Configure an association card

Association cards can have a custom title, up to six properties of the linked record, quick filters, label or primary-only filtering, and a default sort. Filters and sorting are applied before the card's row limit, so they decide which linked records appear first.

### Show cards only when they apply

Click **Set conditional logic** on a card or tab to **Show** or **Hide** it based on a property of the record, for example show a "Renewal details" card only when Deal type is Renewal.

### Save, undo, and exit

Changes are not saved automatically. Use **Undo** and **Redo** while editing, then **Save**. If you leave with unsaved changes, you are asked whether to keep editing.

### Personal card order

The editor's **User customization** settings decide whether people may reorder the left sidebar, the right sidebar, both, or neither for themselves. A personal order never changes which cards are visible, card contents, or the middle column, and new workspace cards still appear for people who reordered theirs.

## Create form

The **Create form** tab controls the form people see when they create a record of this object.

- Add properties, drag them into order, and use **Remove from form** for fields you don't need.
- Use **Require on create** or **Make optional on create** to change whether a field must be filled in when the record is created.
- Fields that are always required (set in Properties) must stay on the form, and Pipeline must stay while Stage is on it.

Restore the system create form from the form's menu.

## Associations

The **Associations** tab (also reached from **Settings → Sales Pipeline → Associations**) shows how this object relates to others and manages **association labels**, such as `Billing contact` or `Decision maker`.

When you create a label, choose:

- **Label type**: a **Single label** that reads the same from both sides, or a **Pair of labels** where each side has its own name, such as `Manager ↔ Employee`.
- **Limits**: optional caps on how many records can take the label, for example one Billing contact per account. Limits stop new links once a record reaches the cap; existing links are kept.

Each label shows where it is used and its history. Developers can find the label ID and the API endpoints that accept it under **API details**.

## Related properties

On objects that can be linked to others, **Related properties** lets admins choose properties from linked records, such as the account's industry on a contact. People can then add those as columns in the object's table. Values stay in sync with the linked record and can be included in the table's search.

## Account automation

On Accounts, the **Automation** tab can automatically create an account and link it to each new contact. When you turn it on, you can also process existing contacts in the background.

## Properties, Objects, and views

- Use [Properties](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/administration/properties) to define and validate data.
- Use Objects to place that data on record pages and create forms.
- Use [Table Views](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/administration/table-views) to set up list and board pages.
- Use [Pipelines](https://workstation.repzo.com/docs/sales/pipelines) for stages and stage rules.

These settings are independent. Hiding a field from a record card does not delete the property, remove it from reports, or hide its table column.
